Warheads

Warheads were invented in Taiwan in 1975, before Peter De Yager of the Foreign Candy Company brought them to the US in 1993 — after studying the extreme sour sweets of Japan, Singapore and Thailand, he settled on a blend of malic, ascorbic and citric acids coating an ordinary fruit hard candy. The brand passed to Impact Confections of Janesville, Wisconsin in 2004, which still makes it today.
