Tango is a drink brand first, but it's also a confectionery brand in its own right - a licensed sweet range that has nothing to do with our existing article on "You've Been Tango'd" and the orange drink's history. Here's what that sweet range actually covers.
A drink brand that also makes sweets
Britvic, which owns Tango, licenses the name out to a confectionery range built around sour, fizzy flavours that echo the drink's reputation rather than copying its taste directly. The best-known product is Tango Shockers - chewy sour bars with a sherbet-filled centre, sold in cherry, apple, orange and blue raspberry, usually as small 11g bars at a 10p price-marked pack aimed at impulse and pocket-money sales.
The wider range
Shockers sit inside a bigger Tango confectionery line-up. A Tango Selection Box (138g) bundles Shockers alongside other Tango-branded sweets, including Tiny Tangs, Blast Balls, Face Shockz and Chewbies Teeniez, plus Mini Shockers bags sold separately. The format and branding lean heavily on the same sour, fizzy positioning across the whole range rather than any one flagship product.
What we stock instead
We don't currently stock any Tango-branded confectionery, Shockers included - it's a narrower impulse-counter range we haven't brought in. For sour sweets generally, we stock the Warheads range and Millions Squashies Japanese Sour. We do stock the Tango orange drink itself in our soft drinks range - see our Tango drink history article for more on that side of the brand.
