Keighley is the home end of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, a heritage line running to Oxenhope that became known as 'The Railway Children Line' after director Lionel Jeffries filmed his 1970 adaptation of E. Nesbit's novel largely around Oakworth Station. The film's paper-chase scenes through Mytholmes Tunnel are still one of the line's biggest draws, and the connection was renewed in 2022 with The Railway Children Return, filmed at stations along the line including Keighley, Oakworth, Damems and Oxenhope.
In the town centre, Keighley Market Hall is the modern successor to an older open-air market that ran along Market Street until 1967, flanked by shops on three sides.
