Collection: Maynards Bassetts

Charles and Tom Maynard started making sweets in their kitchen in 1880, with Charles's wife running a shop next door to sell them. Wine Gums followed in 1909, invented by Charles's son — who reportedly had to convince his strict teetotaller father the sweets contained no actual wine. The brand merged with Bassett's in 2016 to become Maynards Bassetts.
