Sour Punch comes from the American Licorice Company, founded in Chicago in 1914 by German immigrant Martin Kretchmer selling liquorice from a cart. The sour range launched in 1990 with Sour Punch Straws, and has since grown into Bites, Ropes, Beanz and Twists.
