Starburst

Starburst launched in the UK in 1959 as Opal Fruits, named by a competition winner who took home £5 for the idea. It kept that name for nearly 40 years until a 1998 global rebrand — despite public protest — brought it in line with the US name, Starburst, adopted back in 1968.

We stock two formats: Minis Original Fruit Chews, the pocket-money-sized bag of the classic strawberry, orange, lemon and blackcurrant fruit chews, and Starburst Vegan, a newer pouch reformulated without gelatine for anyone who wants the same fruit-chew format without the animal-derived ingredient.
