Bonds Chocolate Eclairs: Toffee, Chocolate, or Both?

Bonds Chocolate Eclairs: Toffee, Chocolate, or Both?

The name is borrowed from the pastry, but a chocolate eclair sweet has nothing to do with choux pastry or cream — it's a toffee sweet with a chocolate centre, and one of the more genuinely two-texture sweets in the Bonds range.

What's actually going on inside

Our Chocolate Eclairs have a firm toffee-flavoured outer shell that gives way to a softer milk chocolate centre — the toffee provides the initial chew, the chocolate finishes it.

Why the name stuck

The shape and the two-layer eating experience (a firmer outside, a softer reveal inside) is likely what earned it the eclair name, even without any pastry or cream involved.
