Galaxy Counters are easy to mix up with Minstrels at a glance — both are small, bagged, bite-sized Galaxy chocolate — but they're genuinely a different product, and one we don't happen to carry.
Counters vs Minstrels: the actual difference
Minstrels are Galaxy's smooth milk chocolate pressed into small buttons with a crisp sugar shell around the outside, closer in spirit to a chocolate button than a plain piece of chocolate. Counters skip the shell entirely — they're just small, bite-sized pieces of Galaxy's smooth milk chocolate on their own, sold in 112g and 122g pouch bags. Mars introduced the pouch format in 2010 as a permanent addition to the range, though the product itself has a retro history going back to a 1980s version that was tested regionally before the modern relaunch.
Worth knowing: a past recall
In 2017, Mars recalled some batches of Galaxy Counters across the UK and Ireland over a possible salmonella contamination risk. That recall is old news at this point and isn't an ongoing concern — we mention it only because it's a genuine part of the product's history, not because there's anything current to worry about.
Do we stock it?
No, we don't currently stock Galaxy Counters. We do carry a good spread of the rest of the Galaxy range, though, including the Smooth Milk Chocolate Snack Bar and Smooth Caramel & Milk Chocolate. See our full Galaxy chocolate guide for everything currently in stock.
