It's made by Swizzels Matlow of New Mills, Derbyshire - the same company behind every other Love Hearts product - using the same fizzy pressed-sweet recipe and edible-ink printing process.

The Giant format is marketed almost entirely around Valentine's Day. Swizzels has said the 39g Giant Love Heart Roll outsells every other Valentine's product it makes, citing 621,000 units sold in a single season - a scale that puts it well ahead of a typical pick 'n' mix line, and reflects how specifically it's positioned as a Valentine's gift rather than a year-round sweet.
