A club dating to 1888
Royal Portrush began in 1888 as 'The County Club' with nine holes, and earned its 'Royal' title in 1895. Its Dunluce Links runs beside the Irish Sea, named after the ruined Dunluce Castle overlooking the course.
The Open returns in 2019
The 2019 Open was played from 18 to 21 July, with 237,750 spectators attending, and was won by Ireland's Shane Lowry by six strokes over Tommy Fleetwood.
